About the role

Ontario Power Generation is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results‑driven Payroll Clerk to join its Shared Services team. This contract position supports payroll operations within a business office and HR setting, helping to ensure accurate and timely compensation for employees.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process payroll and time‑reporting data in line with policies, procedures, and collective agreements.
• Answer payroll‑related inquiries from employees, supervisors, and pensioners.
• Maintain and administer databases to ensure documentation is ready for annual audits.
• Provide advice and assistance on payroll matters.
• Participate in the design, development, and testing of new or revised payroll systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma plus up to one year of post‑secondary study in a related field.
• 1‑3 years of payroll experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Resilient in an agile, change‑driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to quickly understand business processes and deliver client‑focused service in a high‑volume setting.
• Demonstrated integrity and commitment to corporate values and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.
