About the role
The Town of Newmarket is seeking a hands‑on Operator to maintain, improve and construct parks and outdoor amenities that serve the community. The role combines practical construction work with routine park upkeep, ensuring safe, attractive public spaces for residents and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of park facilities, including trails, playgrounds, and landscaping.
- Carry out construction, repair, and renovation projects such as carpentry, masonry, and structural repairs.
- Operate and maintain park equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with municipal teams to plan and execute improvement projects.
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental standards.
Required profile
- Proven experience in construction, carpentry, masonry, or related trades.
- Familiarity with park maintenance and outdoor amenity projects.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a municipal team.
