Manager Student & Community Engagement

About the role

The Manager, Student & Community Engagement leads initiatives that support historically, persistently and systemically marginalized (HPSM) student and employee groups across UBC's Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. Reporting to the Associate Director, Education, Community & Conflict Engagement, the role works independently to advance equity, anti‑racism and decolonisation objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement engagement strategies for HPSM communities.
• Collaborate with the Office of the Vice‑President Students, Human Resources, student government and other campus partners.
• Provide guidance and support to student‑led equity groups and community initiatives.
• Monitor and report on the impact of engagement activities.
• Facilitate capacity‑building workshops and training sessions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in community engagement, equity, inclusion or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of anti‑racism, decolonisation and equity frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
