Maintenance Technician

About the role

Pacifica Housing is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to support its residential properties. The role involves completing scheduled work orders, ensuring units are safe and functional, and upholding the organization’s quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as plumbing, appliance servicing, drywall, painting, and minor electrical work.
• Install and assemble residential fixtures including doors and blinds.
• Post tenancy notices in compliance with the Residential Tenancy Act.
• Clean and repair units during turnover according to specifications.
• Report safety incidents promptly to management.
• Complete paperwork for work orders and mileage claims.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and tenants.
• Work independently to meet deadlines and keep the Assistant Maintenance Manager informed of progress.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic First Aid Certificate.
• Experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in non‑profit housing.
• Demonstrated ability to handle building maintenance tasks.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $30.27‑$32.60 (CAD).
• Full‑time schedule: 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, Monday‑Thursday (80 hours bi‑weekly).
• Union‑represented position (BCGEU).
• Certified Living Wage Employer.
