Maintenance Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Lead to manage the upkeep, safety and operation of building systems, equipment and grounds for our Hallmark on the Park and Hallmark on the Lake assisted and independent living communities in Abbotsford, BC. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will lead a small maintenance team and ensure a comfortable, safe environment for our senior residents.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance for plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Oversee building and grounds repairs, responding promptly to resident requests.
• Lead site safety initiatives, including orientations and fire drills.
• Select and manage contractors for specialised work such as flooring, grounds and elevators.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in a CMMS and generate activity, repair and expense reports.
• Identify hazards, report to the Administrator and support budget and capital‑reserve planning.
• Supervise, hire, schedule and evaluate maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Formal education, certification or equivalent experience in facility maintenance or building operations.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in building maintenance and repair.
• Proven leadership experience supervising teams and coordinating contractors.

Required skills

• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical building systems.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations and safety standards.
• Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong command of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint.
