Loss Prevention Investigator – Retail Security

About the role

The Loss Prevention Investigator safeguards Holt Renfrew’s assets by preventing fraud, shoplifting, and internal loss. Working on the sales floor, you will monitor activities, respond to incidents, and support operational teams to maintain a secure shopping environment.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol the sales floor to identify dishonest behavior by customers and staff.
• Monitor CCTV feeds, dispatch alerts, and apprehend shoplifters while maintaining detailed records.
• Testify in criminal proceedings when required.
• Conduct periodic point‑of‑sale audits and internal investigations with strict confidentiality.
• Analyze transaction reports to identify loss trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist Operations and Sales with inventory counts, shortage programs, and handling unsaleable items.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and complete follow‑up reporting.
• Support audit processes to ensure compliance with company policies, privacy regulations, and health & safety standards.

Required profile

• College degree.
• 2–3 years of experience in loss prevention or a similar security role.
• Training in kinesic interview techniques or other interrogation methods.
• Previous retail experience, preferably in a luxury environment.
• Standard First Aid and CPR OPA Level II certification.
• Valid provincial guard licence.
• Full bilingual proficiency in French and English.
