Junior Construction Coordinator / Supervisor

About the role

Join WSP’s Applied Solutions team in Yellowknife to support field execution on mine closure and environmental remediation projects. This junior position offers hands‑on experience in construction coordination within a remote, extreme‑climate environment, operating on a 2‑weeks on / 2‑weeks off rotational schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate daily construction and field activities on mine closure and environmental projects.
• Assist in monitoring contractor work to ensure alignment with safety, scope, and schedule requirements.
• Work with project teams to enable safe execution in remote and extreme climate conditions.
• Track field progress, maintain documentation, and contribute to project reporting.
• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Identify and communicate field issues, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to successful project outcomes and environmental restoration efforts.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in construction coordination, supervision, or field operations.
• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (civil, environmental, or related discipline).
• Exposure to mine closure, remediation, or environmental projects is an asset.
• Ability to work in remote locations under extreme weather and site conditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
• Adaptability to a 2‑weeks on / 2‑weeks off rotational schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
