IT Lab Technician

About the role

High Tech Genesis is seeking a dedicated IT Lab Technician to join our on‑site team. You will work hands‑on with Dell and HP hardware, configure network devices, and prepare servers for quality‑control testing in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Run scripts on Cisco switches and routers.
• Unpack, rack, configure, and repack Dell/HP servers and workstations.
• Set up RAID arrays and install Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2016, 2019) and Linux operating systems.
• Perform base‑level configuration and basic troubleshooting.
• Follow predefined checklists and label parts according to the part‑number catalog.
• Prepare systems as rack‑ready, plug‑and‑play units for QC.

Required profile

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lb repeatedly.
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented, able to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Experience with Cisco router/switch CLI scripting.
• Installation and configuration of Dell and HP rack and tower servers.
• RAID configuration and hard‑drive partitioning.
• Deployment of Windows Server (2008 R2‑2019) and Linux OS.
• Understanding of part‑number catalogs and label printing.
• Basic troubleshooting of server and network hardware.
