Intermediate Accountant – 6 Month Contract

About the role

Akkodis is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join a leading organization on a 6‑month contract. The role focuses on month‑end and quarter‑end financial close activities, leveraging SAP and advanced Excel to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end and quarter‑end close, preparing and posting journal entries.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations in line with accounting policies.
• Investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and escalate issues as needed.
• Conduct variance analysis to support financial reporting.
• Execute and document SOX controls to maintain internal control standards.
• Create and maintain finance process documentation, including process flows and key controls.
• Assist with audit requirements, control effectiveness reviews, and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives using Alteryx and PowerApps.
• Utilize SAP and Microsoft Excel for accounting and reporting functions.

Required profile

• Formal accounting education with relevant experience.
• CPA (CA) designation preferred.
• Strong experience in financial close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience executing and documenting SOX controls.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
