Human Resources Generalist

About the role

We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support leadership and staff across strategic and operational HR functions. The role focuses on occupational health, leave management, labour relations, recruitment, performance management, policy development, and return‑to‑work planning, while acting as a primary liaison with external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on performance management, employee relations, and attendance support.
• Interpret and apply collective agreements and internal policies.
• Participate in compensation reviews, wellness initiatives, and HR projects.
• Lead or support internal investigations and make recommendations.
• Oversee case management for occupational and non‑occupational leaves.
• Liaise with WSIB and other third parties to coordinate return‑to‑work and modified work plans.
• Participate in labour‑management meetings, grievance handling, and contract negotiations.
• Contribute to the creation and updating of HR policies and workflows.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
• CHRP or CHRL designation (or actively working toward it).
• 2–3 years of HR experience in a unionized healthcare environment.
• Proven knowledge of labour relations, disability management, HR analytics, and collective agreement administration.

Required skills
