About the role

This 1‑month contract position supports a mission‑driven non‑profit that coordinates emergency response teams across Canada. You will join a collaborative HR team that values responsiveness, empathy, and precision in high‑pressure environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support onboarding and HR coordination for emergency response personnel across multiple teams.
• Lead and facilitate virtual orientations and meetings to ensure smooth integration of new team members.
• Maintain accurate employee data across several systems, ensuring consistency and integrity.
• Coordinate schedules, track workforce changes, and assist with training logistics.
• Respond to HR‑related inquiries and provide timely, empathetic support to internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements and ongoing HR operations in a dynamic setting.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of HR experience or a combination of HR education and customer‑service experience.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with the capacity to handle shifting priorities.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills focused on empathy and collaboration.
• Access to a reliable computer, high‑speed internet, webcam; dual monitors are an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
• Comfort navigating multiple HR and data‑management systems.
