Employment Support Worker

About the role

The Employment Support Worker joins the At Work program to deliver intensive, individualized vocational supports for clients with mental health concerns, helping them secure and retain competitive employment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide vocational support using the Individual Placement and Support model, including employment readiness assessments and development of personalized employment plans.
• Conduct job development, job carving, and on‑site coaching to support job acquisition and retention.
• Coordinate services, arrange unpaid placements, negotiate job trials and subsidies, and develop accommodation plans.
• Market the program to employers, advocate for clients, and deliver pre‑employment services such as resume development and interview coaching.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper client records, complete administrative tasks, and enter statistical and financial data for funders.
• Collaborate with community partners, participate in outreach, and contribute to agency quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma or degree in social services, human resources, employment counselling or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in mental health and/or employment services, with strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Valid G driver’s licence, satisfactory police check, and ability to meet health‑and‑safety training requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
• Experience using databases and client record management systems.
