HR Generalist

About the role

We are partnering with a growing multi‑site retail organization to add an HR Generalist who will serve as the primary HR resource for leaders and employees. This role blends strategic partnership with hands‑on support, allowing you to shape processes, improve employee experiences, and make a tangible impact across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day HR support.
• Partner with leaders on employee relations, performance concerns, documentation, accommodations, and workplace issues.
• Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate next steps.
• Support full‑cycle recruitment for office and retail management positions.
• Coordinate onboarding and off‑boarding activities.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and follow‑up action planning.
• Improve HR processes through SOPs, templates, toolkits, and practical solutions.
• Maintain accurate HR documentation and employee records.
• Provide payroll backup coverage during vacations and absences.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist.
• Proven ability to handle employee relations issues with confidence and professionalism.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario employment standards and HR best practices.
• Experience coaching managers through workplace challenges.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership.
• Retail, multi‑site, distribution, warehouse, or operational experience is a strong asset.

Required skills

• HRIS experience.
