General Manager, Projects – Mining & Minerals EPCM

About the role

The General Manager, Projects will lead the Projects Group for the Americas, overseeing the full execution lifecycle of mining and minerals EPCM projects. Reporting to the President, the role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on project direction on critical assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Own overall delivery performance (cost, schedule, safety, quality) for all EPCM projects across the Americas.
• Lead and develop a team of roughly 120 professionals through four senior managers covering project delivery, construction, project controls, and procurement/contracts.
• Serve as senior client interface, handling escalations and relationship management.
• Step into a Project Director or Senior Project Manager role on strategically critical projects when required.
• Act as project sponsor or participate in sponsor meetings to ensure decisions are executed.
• Support business development through client presentations, pre‑bid site visits, and senior‑level relationship building.
• Oversee resource planning and workforce development for a multi‑office operation.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in EPCM delivery for mining and minerals projects.
• Track record of managing large, multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects on cost, schedule, safety, and quality targets.
• Ability to act hands‑on as a Project Director on high‑impact projects.
• Strong client‑facing skills with experience in escalation handling and relationship management.
• Experience in business development, proposal oversight, and contract negotiation.
