General Foreman – Construction Site Leader

About the role

As a General Foreman at Chandos, you will serve as the right‑hand to the Superintendent, overseeing day‑to‑day field activities on commercial construction sites. You will manage budgets, schedules, and performance while leading the on‑site crew and ensuring high‑quality, safe work.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in directing project activities and providing on‑site leadership.
• Plan, organize, and manage construction manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as logbooks, safety records, and timesheets.
• Monitor productivity, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage subcontractor relationships to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
• Promote sustainable construction practices and minimize environmental impact.
• Run smaller‑scale jobs independently, gaining ownership and hands‑on experience.

Required profile

• Journeyman status with Red Seal certification (Commercial Tenant Improvement preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in construction management or a related field.
• Knowledge of fire‑rating systems.
• Ability and willingness to work off‑hours and night shifts.
• Strong understanding of safety standards; NCSO certification is an asset.
