About the role

Canam offers an accelerated two‑month training program for aspiring steel‑structure assemblers in Saint‑Gédéon‑de‑Beauce. Participants are paid throughout the training and, upon successful completion, are guaranteed a permanent full‑time position at the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret standard and angled engineering plans.
• Assemble columns, beams and complex angular components on the production line.
• Perform basic welding tasks to support assembly operations.
• Alternate between classroom theory (2 h) and hands‑on practice (6 h) each workday.

Required profile

• Ability to pass theoretical and practical aptitude tests (spatial/3D perception, manual dexterity).
• Willingness to commit to a 24‑month employment agreement with Canam after training.
• Interest in a manual, hands‑on career in the construction industry.

Required skills

• Plan reading and interpretation.
• Structural assembly techniques.
• Basic welding proficiency.
