Foreperson Sprinkler Fitter

About the role

We are seeking a Foreperson Sprinkler Fitter to lead the installation of a six‑story residential project in Squamish, BC. This full‑time position will run for approximately two years and involves supervising crews, managing schedules, and ensuring high‑quality workmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics to guide installation work.
• Assign tasks to apprentices and journeypersons based on skill sets and project needs.
• Track project schedules, conduct site trade meetings, and represent the company’s vision.
• Prepare material and labour take‑offs, order stock, and optimise material utilisation.
• Supervise on‑site work, liaise with clients, and maintain excellent customer service.
• Inspect work progress and ensure compliance with safety standards and client specifications.
• Complete daily reports and maintain accurate documentation of work orders.

Required profile

• Journeyman Sprinkler Fitting ticket with at least 5 years of installation and service experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a foreperson on sprinkler projects.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently or within a team.
• Excellent English communication skills, self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work 40 hours per week with overtime/on‑call as needed.

Required skills

• Blueprint and schematic reading.
• Installation, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of wet, dry, and pre‑action sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of fire pumps, fire hydrants, backflow preventers and special‑hazard sprinkler systems.
• Material take‑off and stock ordering.
