Fiber Optic Splice Technician

About the role

RFNOW Inc. is looking for a motivated Fiber Optic Splice Technician to join its field team. You will work on installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber internet infrastructure across various sites, ensuring projects meet client deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Splice and test fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor plant applications, including buried and underground installations.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot faults, and correct defects to maintain network performance.
• Interpret and follow placing and splicing work plans for new and existing cable runs.
• Travel to multiple work sites as required and work in all weather conditions.

Required profile

• Self‑disciplined and able to work independently or collaboratively to meet schedule commitments.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various locations.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including nights and weekends, when needed.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Required skills

• Fiber optic splicing (experience is an asset, training provided for the right candidate).
• Competency with OTDR and other fiber testing protocols.
• Ability to interpret placing and splicing plans.
