Draftsperson – Architectural Design & Construction

About the role

The Draftsperson will create electronic design drawings, fixture plans, and construction details for new stores, expansions, and renovations. This role supports internal presentations, corporate approvals, tendering, permitting, and on‑site construction execution.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary design layouts, fixture plans and design details for internal review and client presentation.
• Produce final décor drawings, standard and site‑specific design details for retail projects.
• Assemble and manage hard‑copy and electronic project drawing sets for permits, tenders and approvals.
• Create sample and presentation boards for various stakeholder uses.
• Maintain the technical library, product sample inventory and electronic drawing filing system for active and archived projects.
• Visit local stores and project sites as needed to assess conditions and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable laws and regulations.

Required profile

• Diploma in Architectural Technology, Interior Design or equivalent post‑secondary education.
• Minimum 2 years drafting experience, preferably in retail design.
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Self‑motivated, highly organized with excellent time‑management skills.
• Valid Ontario driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Revit.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic understanding of SAP (asset).
