About the role
The Group Sales Director leads a team of sales managers to deliver an exceptional customer and employee experience while meeting sales and profit targets. This position is based in a luxury fashion retail environment and works closely with the General Manager on strategic planning.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and retain a high‑performing sales manager team.
- Recruit, select, hire and onboard top sales talent, ensuring consistent certification.
- Set performance goals (sales, customer, people, events) and coach managers to achieve them.
- Recognize outstanding performance and develop improvement plans for under‑performers.
- Manage expense and payroll budgets, review profit‑and‑loss statements, and analyze merchandising, inventory and scheduling metrics.
- Develop talent and succession plans to retain key employees.
- Assist the GM with the store’s annual strategic plan focused on customer and associate development.
- Communicate assortment and merchandising information to the Group Business Manager.
- Implement CRM strategies, including customer events, luncheons and outreach programs.
- Review and act on Customer and Employee Voice scores and ensure compliance with privacy and cybersecurity policies.
- Serve as manager‑in‑charge and assume General Manager duties as needed.
Required profile
- 4‑6 years of relevant experience, including 2‑3 years supervising managers.
- Proven record of exceeding sales and profit targets.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage internal and external relationships, handle confrontations, coach and build teams.
- Early adopter and change initiator with an entrepreneurial spirit.
