Course Lecturer – Effective Communication (EDEC 202-002)

About the role

The Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 offering of EDEC 202-002 Effective Communication. The role involves delivering a three‑credit, on‑site course that develops students’ writing, speaking, and non‑verbal communication skills for academic and professional contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and lead classroom activities for the Effective Communication course (Fridays 08:35 am‑11:25 am, EDUC 338).
• Design and facilitate workshop‑based, discussion‑based, and peer‑feedback learning environments.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and support skill transfer across contexts.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in education, rhetoric and composition, applied linguistics, communication studies, or a related field.
• Expert knowledge of rhetorical approaches, genre theory, and academic writing conventions (including APA style).
• Experience teaching writing or communication at the post‑secondary level.
• Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive, respectful dialogue and integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.

Required skills
