Controller – Finance Operations Lead

About the role

Solvet is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting function and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s growth strategy and financial infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies in line with GAAP.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with regulatory bodies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for senior management.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across the finance function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
• Significant experience in accounting roles within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proven ability to lead a finance team and manage complex financial processes.

Required skills

• Financial reporting and month‑end close expertise.
• Understanding of internal controls and audit coordination.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel.
