Controller – Construction Finance

About the role

RS Foundation Systems Ltd. is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its finance function across construction projects in Western Canada. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, inventory and general ledger.
• Prepare, analyze and present financial reports for management.
• Oversee account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain and optimise accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial models.
• Perform job costing, labour allocations and cost coding.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal reporting standards.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Coordinate audits and provide required documentation.
• Provide leadership and training to accounting staff.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• 7‑10+ years progressive accounting experience, including 3‑5 years in construction or project‑based accounting.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast‑paced environment.
