Construction Working Site Superintendent

About the role

The Working Site Superintendent will oversee all construction activities on commercial, retail, and office projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety, and efficiency. This hands‑on leader will travel across Ontario and Canada, managing crews for extended periods and adapting to night‑time schedules when required.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily on‑site construction trades and subcontractors, assigning work and resources.
• Maintain safety compliance with local authorities and company manuals.
• Monitor labour, equipment, and material usage to optimise productivity.
• Prepare and deliver daily progress, cost, and safety reports to the Project Manager.
• Assist the Project Manager with site mobilisation and set‑up.
• Resolve design issues, change requests, material defects, and equipment problems.
• Perform carpentry and drywall tasks as needed, such as hanging doors, blocking, trim work, and fixture installation.

Required profile

• Strong safety awareness and ability to enforce regulations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proven ability to plan, organise, and adapt to changing project demands.
• Experience managing construction crews on commercial/retail projects.
