Construction Site Superintendent

About the role

Rutherford Contracting is seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to lead on‑site activities for its Buildings Division. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction operations, schedule work, and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and laborers.
• Monitor progress against specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Conduct regular site inspections to enforce safety protocols, quality standards, and building codes.
• Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment use, and waste disposal.
• Resolve on‑site issues by coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as daily reports, progress photos, and as‑built drawings.
• Provide leadership and guidance to on‑site personnel and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members to exceed project expectations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of construction management experience on commercial, industrial, or civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, blueprint reading, and industry best practices.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to safety and familiarity with OHSA regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
