Construction Estimator – Full‑Time in Calgary

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Construction Estimator to join our Calgary team. The estimator will prepare and review cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, work closely with project managers, and analyse drawings and specifications to deliver accurate, competitive bids.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quotes and design proposals, including service calls and new projects.
• Select qualified subcontractors and obtain competitive pricing for tenders.
• Analyse tender drawings, comment on design, scheduling, cost‑saving opportunities and potential construction issues.
• Attend on‑site pre‑bid meetings, tender walks, conferences and site visits.
• Develop detailed estimates for materials, labour, equipment, subcontracts and construction facilities.
• Maintain the Master Tender List and continuously source new trades.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years estimating experience with a general contractor in commercial, retail, restaurant or industrial projects.
• Experience with ground‑up construction is an asset.
• Proficiency in estimating software (Planswift) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
