Construction Coordinator / Supervisor

About the role

The Construction Coordinator / Supervisor provides on‑site construction coordination in line with the client’s safety, quality, scope, schedule and cost principles. Working as an individual contributor, the role supports Construction Superintendents by monitoring field conditions and recommending corrective actions to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Attend contractor morning line‑ups and communicate safety alerts, hazards and other relevant information to the crew.
• Perform daily site visits to assigned construction locations, subject to logistical constraints.
• Review lessons learned from previous projects and implement best practices where applicable.
• Conduct at least one formal workplace safety audit or inspection each week.
• Maintain a daily log of safety observations, surface notes and hazards in collaboration with Surface Development and Construction teams.
• Verify that contractor‑provided project‑specific safety plans are adequate, audit compliance and recommend follow‑up actions.
• Facilitate Process Hazard Reviews (PHR), Management of Change processes and incident investigations, ensuring alignment with incident management guidelines.
• Stop work when safety concerns arise and work with contractors to correct the issue.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and procedures for surface construction activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction coordination or supervision, preferably in large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and hazard assessment methods.
• Ability to conduct audits, safety inspections and incident investigations.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with contractors, project teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
