Civil Design Technologist

About the role

Associated Engineering is looking for an experienced Civil Design Technologist to join our Calgary office. You will work on a variety of infrastructure projects across southern Alberta, collaborating with engineers and cross‑functional teams from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver project objectives from concept to as‑built submissions.
• Produce drawings, quantity take‑offs, technical reports, cost estimates, specifications and contract documents for municipal infrastructure.
• Interpret topographic survey data, field notes and engineering designs.
• Design 3D alignments, surfaces, profiles and pipe networks using multiple data sets.
• Create base‑plan drawings from field notes and client data.
• Perform QA/QC reviews for other technologists on various projects.
• Assist in developing new standards and processes for the design team.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design and Drafting from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated experience with site grading, site servicing, utilities, erosion and sediment control.
• Experience designing large‑diameter water transmission pipes and civil site servicing for water facilities is an asset.
• Registered Technologist (or eligible for registration) preferred.
