About the role
The Board Director will provide strategic oversight for CNIB Deafblind Community Services, guiding the organization toward expanded geographic reach and stronger impact for Deafblind Canadians. This governance role works closely with the executive team to shape long‑term strategy and develop professional intervenor standards.
Key responsibilities
- Champion the mission and values of CNIB Deafblind Community Services.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure sustainable growth.
- Help develop and promote global professional intervenor standards.
- Collaborate with other board members, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Support fundraising, advocacy, and public awareness initiatives.
Required profile
- A personal connection to or strong commitment to the Deafblind community.
- Demonstrated experience in governance, strategic planning, or senior leadership.
- Ability to think future‑focused and contribute to high‑level decision making.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
