Automotive Body and Collision Damage Repair Technician

About the role

The Aviva AutoCare Centre, a new collision repair facility in Mississauga, is looking for a dedicated Automotive Body and Collision Damage Repair Technician. You will work closely with the production team on panel preparation and repair activities, including fenders, bumpers and other vehicle components, aiming for quality repairs that satisfy customers.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and/or replace frame and structural, mechanical, interior and electrical components, plastic and composite panels and sheet metal panels.
• Remove, repair or replace, reshape and refit body panels.
• Straighten and align frames and unibody assemblies.
• Remove, repair or replace wiring harnesses, air conditioning systems and mechanical components.
• Weld breaks in panels or install new structural panels.
• Ensure repairs meet industry and safety standards, and keep work areas, tools and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, and promote the centre's values and goals.

Required profile

• Red Seal certification as Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer (310B), or an actively registered apprenticeship, highly preferred.
• I-Car, manufacturer or other certifications are an asset.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience in vehicle panel repairs and a solid understanding of repair methods.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Knowledge of automotive and equipment preventative maintenance, refurbishment and repair practices.
• Organizational, time management and interpersonal skills, with strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues and to take direction.
