Assistant Superintendent

About the role

Chandos is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support day‑to‑day construction activities on commercial projects across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Fraser Valley. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the high craftsmanship standards our reputation demands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations, enforce safety and quality standards.
• Partner with project managers, subcontractors and clients to keep projects on schedule.
• Continuously monitor project budgets and forecast costs at the phase‑code level.
• Provide clear communication of roles and responsibilities for all site personnel.
• Monitor equipment and supplies, ensuring availability where needed.
• Inspect tools and equipment, coordinating service and repairs.
• Perform hands‑on work, including night shifts or extended hours, to meet critical milestones.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience as a Superintendent for a large general contractor on commercial builds.
• Proven track record managing projects valued between $100K and $5M.
• Journeyman trade certification or equivalent field experience.
• Technical diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
• Gold Seal certification (preferred).
• Willingness to work occasional night shifts and travel across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Fraser Valley.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
