Assistant Engineer

About the role

Wood Rodgers is seeking an Assistant Engineer to join its Transportation Department in Roseville, CA. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience across a variety of roadway and transportation projects while working within a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering analysis, designs, calculations, and cost estimates for roadway systems and related structures.
• Assist with layout and plan preparation alongside senior designers.
• Develop technical specifications and contribute to proposal and report writing.
• Support project teams on multiple assignments and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0‑5 years of relevant experience.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage several projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Civil3D.
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
