API Developer – Hybrid Contract (6‑12 months)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join our team in Toronto on a hybrid basis. The role is a 6‑12 month contract focused on designing, building, and integrating APIs for our BFSI domain.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain REST, SOAP, and other API services.
- Implement API specifications using Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Integrate APIs with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Work with data streaming technologies like Kafka for real‑time data pipelines.
- Collaborate in an Agile environment using Atlassian tools.
Required profile
- 10+ years of overall professional experience.
- Proven experience with AWS and/or GCP.
- 2+ years working with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
- 2+ years of system integration and API development experience.
- Experience in Agile software development.
- Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence and Git version control.

What we offer
- Competitive pay rate of CAD 52‑54 per hour.
