API Developer – Hybrid Contract (6‑12 months)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join our team in Toronto on a hybrid basis. The role is a 6‑12 month contract focused on designing, building, and integrating APIs for our BFSI domain.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain REST, SOAP, and other API services.
• Implement API specifications using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Integrate APIs with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Work with data streaming technologies like Kafka for real‑time data pipelines.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment using Atlassian tools.

Required profile

• 10+ years of overall professional experience.
• Proven experience with AWS and/or GCP.
• 2+ years working with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
• 2+ years of system integration and API development experience.
• Experience in Agile software development.
• Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence and Git version control.
