3D Character Artist (Mobile Game)

About the role

IGG Canada is seeking a 3D Character Artist to contribute to a cutting‑edge 3D simulation mobile game. The role reports to the 3D Lead and is based on‑site at the Vancouver studio.

Key responsibilities

• Create low‑ and high‑poly character and hard‑surface models quickly, following pre‑existing art designs.
• Apply hand‑painted PBR textures, understand card rendering logic, and ensure strong colour composition and overall aesthetics.
• Collaborate with other art teams to improve overall character quality.
• Iterate on sketches, adding detail as needed.
• Handle multiple related elements simultaneously.
• Utilise AI tools where applicable (a plus).
• Work with Unity engine (a big plus).

Required profile

• Proficient in Zbrush, Maya or 3ds Max, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
• Portfolio showcasing realistic character work across various styles.
• Versatile and flexible in a fast‑moving environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other artists.
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada (no sponsorship).
• Experience with AAA title development or shipping is a bonus.
• Experience placing assets in game engines such as Unreal or Unity is a plus.
