Senior Technical Artist (Mobile Game)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Artist to bridge art and technology on a 3D mobile simulation game. Working on‑site in Vancouver, you will collaborate with artists, designers and programmers to create stylized shaders, optimise assets and streamline Unity workflows for mobile performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and integrate stylised shaders and materials for characters and visual effects using Amplify Shader Editor or Unity Shader Graph.
• Prepare, optimise and maintain 2D/3D assets, materials, lighting, prefabs and visual effects in Unity for real‑time mobile deployment.
• Review and improve rendering performance, addressing draw calls, overdraw, shader complexity and texture memory.
• Support artists with Unity pipelines, asset import settings and technical troubleshooting.
• Research and prototype new tools or techniques to boost visual quality and production efficiency.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional Technical Art experience in the mobile game industry.
• Strong understanding of Unity real‑time 3D production pipelines and mobile performance constraints.
• Hands‑on experience creating stylised shaders and visual effects for mobile platforms.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and solve technical art challenges.

• Substance Designer, Substance Painter
