Intermediate Technical Artist – Mobile Game

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Technical Artist to bridge art and technology on a 3D mobile simulation game. Working on‑site in Vancouver, you will collaborate with artists, designers and programmers to create stylized shaders, optimise assets and streamline Unity workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and integrate stylized visuals for characters, environments and VFX in Unity, including asset preparation and optimisation.
• Design, implement and maintain custom shaders using Amplify Shader Editor or Unity Shader Graph, addressing performance budgets.
• Support artists with Unity pipelines, troubleshoot asset issues and improve production workflows and tools.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of professional experience in technical or 3D art within the game industry.
• Strong knowledge of Unity real‑time 3D production pipelines and mobile performance constraints.
• Artistic sensibility combined with the ability to solve technical challenges.

Required skills

• Unity (including URP)
• Amplify Shader Editor or Unity Shader Graph
• HLSL / ShaderLab
• Maya or 3ds Max
• Substance Designer or Substance Painter
