Senior FX Artist

About the role

As a Senior FX Artist at ICON Creative Studio, you will lead the creation of complex visual effects for high‑profile CG franchises. Working closely with show and art directors, you’ll tackle the most challenging shots, mentor junior artists, and drive R&D on reusable FX rigs and templates.

Key responsibilities

• Execute intricate visual effects accurately and efficiently, meeting the highest quality standards.
• Solve technical and artistic challenges on demanding shots, collaborating with leads and supervisors.
• Mentor and troubleshoot for junior artists, fostering a collaborative knowledge‑sharing environment.
• Develop and implement reusable FX rigs or templates to ensure consistency across series of shots.
• Conduct R&D and proof‑of‑concept tests for complex effects ahead of schedule.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in visual effects for animation, film, or television.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Houdini and/or Maya, with solid experience using Nuke or similar compositing tools.
• Strong artistic eye with deep understanding of timing, motion, and physics.
• Proven track record of mentoring artists and leading complex effects work.
• Ability to innovate, optimize FX for performance and render efficiency.
