About the role
The Nurse II provides comprehensive nursing care to patients, residents and clients within Prairie Mountain Health facilities. This role focuses on maternal‑child nursing and ensures care is delivered in line with provincial standards, policies and ethical guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence‑based nursing care to mothers, newborns and families.
- Maintain compliance with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba standards, the Regulated Health Professions Act and relevant professional codes of ethics.
- Document care accurately using electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Participate in ongoing competency maintenance and professional development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required profile
- Active or eligible licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
- At least one year of full‑time maternal‑child nursing experience within the past three years, or successful completion of an accredited midwifery program.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Demonstrated ability to make effective clinical decisions and work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a satisfactory employment record.
Required skills
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
- Completion of an online Introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring course.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with electronic software programs.
