Intermediate Lighting / Compositing Artist (On-Site)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Intermediate Lighting / Compositing Artist to join ICON Creative Studio’s on‑site team in Vancouver. You will develop and implement lighting setups and composite renders that enhance the visual storytelling of animated series.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement captivating lighting setups for animated sequences.
• Collaborate with Art, Animation, and FX teams to ensure consistent visual quality.
• Troubleshoot lighting issues and apply post‑processing effects.
• Composite renders to create cohesive, visually stunning scenes.
• Work closely with the Art Director, Lighting Supervisor, and fellow artists to meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Film, Fine Arts or related field.
• Experience working on an animated TV series.
• Knowledge of Maya and Arnold.
• Familiarity with compositing software such as Nuke (preferred).
• Scripting ability in Python (highly desirable).
• Strong communication skills.
• Prior experience developing set light rigs.
