Housekeeping Aide – Temporary Part‑time

About the role

The Housekeeping Aide provides a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors at Manitoulin Health Centre. This temporary part‑time position focuses on maintaining hygiene standards across patient and non‑patient areas.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly and periodic cleaning of patient rooms, offices, common areas and exterior spaces.
• Follow Manitoulin Health Centre cleaning standards and infection‑control guidelines.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with WHMIS regulations.

Required profile

• Partial secondary school education (Grade 10) or equivalent.
• Previous cleaning experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated teamwork, service orientation and creativity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Familiarity with the organisation’s Policy & Procedures and Learning Management System.
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, infection‑control practices and WHMIS.
