Medical Laboratory Technologist – Permanent Part-Time

About the role

Manitoulin Health Centre is seeking a part‑time Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the Little Current Hospital team. The role involves performing a wide range of laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, and supporting patient care through accurate and timely results.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, handle, and process specimens in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Operate Point‑of‑Care systems and the Meditech Lab module for test entry and result reporting.
• Perform internal, external, and blind duplicate quality‑control checks.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, conduct instrument maintenance, and verify performance specifications.
• Interpret, document, and communicate test results for a variety of specimens.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Three‑year college diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
• Proof of full COVID‑19 immunisation.
• Recent experience in a hospital laboratory setting (preferred).
• Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) (preferred).
