Game System Designer – Mobile 3D SLG

About the role

IGG Canada is seeking a creative and analytical Game System Designer to shape engaging mobile gameplay for its next 3D SLG title. You will work on‑site in Vancouver, collaborating closely with art and programming teams to deliver compelling player experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and iterate gameplay features that boost player enjoyment and retention.
• Define and document game mechanics, level progression, and system requirements.
• Coordinate system projects with art and programming, ensuring timely delivery.
• Conduct testing, identify issues, and drive acceptance of assigned features.
• Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) to generate design references, draft documentation, and accelerate iteration.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of internship or professional experience in the game industry, preferably with mobile SLG system design.
• Passion for mobile games, strong understanding of progression systems, and experience playing SLG titles such as Kingshot or Whiteout Survival.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and other Office applications; familiarity with Unity for reviewing builds.
• Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) to support design workflows.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational abilities.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
