Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Financial Controller to join Alinea Land Corporation’s Burlington office. The role will own full‑cycle accounting and reporting for both corporate and property‑related activities, supporting the financial health of our community development portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑cycle accounting and prepare monthly financial reports for corporate and property entities.
• Monitor and report on accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash position, income and expenses.
• Complete annual CAM reconciliations and draft operating budgets.
• Perform variance analysis at the asset and development‑budget levels.
• Support five‑year financial planning and long‑term budget forecasting.
• Manage HST filings for active entities.
• Provide audit support and lead year‑end closing processes.
• Analyze job costs to assist development teams and identify cost‑saving or revenue opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with property‑tax regulations and implement strong internal financial controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of experience in commercial property, land development, or real‑estate finance.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and variance analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• CPA designation is an asset but not required.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Yardi (Voyager or Breeze) preferred.
