Data Scientist – SQL, Python, Banking & Capital Markets

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist with deep expertise in Banking and Capital Markets. The role will support data‑driven decision‑making across risk, compliance, and regulatory initiatives by turning complex financial data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large, structured and unstructured financial datasets to uncover trends and support business decisions.
• Design, validate, and deploy statistical and machine‑learning models for use cases such as stress testing, credit risk, and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate financial and regulatory requirements into analytical solutions.
• Develop and optimise SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Build analytics workflows and models using Python and related libraries.
• Communicate findings through dashboards, visualisations, and clear documentation while ensuring data quality and governance.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst, with at least 5 years in Banking or Capital Markets.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams.

• SQL (complex querying and performance optimisation)

• Data visualisation tools (Power BI or Tableau)
• Basic understanding of LLMs and AI tools (e.g., Copilot)
