About the role
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for the Winter 2027 term to teach MECH 315 – Intermediate Dynamics (4 credits). The appointment runs from January 5, 2027 to April 30, 2027, with classes scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver all course material outlined in the official Course Outline, including single-degree‑of‑freedom systems, free vibrations, damping effects, and response to various excitations.
- Teach Lagrange’s equations of motion, vibrations of multi‑degree‑of‑freedom systems, and continuous systems.
- Conduct lectures, lead discussions, and assess student performance through assignments and examinations.
Required profile
- Minimum Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least three years of teaching experience or relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and an understanding of cross‑cultural practices.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a flexible approach to teaching.
