Course Lecturer – Heat Transfer (Winter 2027)

About the role

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Course Lecturer for MECH 346 Heat Transfer during the Winter 2027 term. The lecturer will be responsible for delivering the full curriculum, engaging students in both theoretical and practical aspects of heat transfer, and assessing their performance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and tutorials for MECH 346 on scheduled days (Wednesday and Friday, 2:35 pm – 3:55 pm).
• Cover all material outlined in the official course catalogue, including conduction, convection, radiation, heat exchangers, and design projects.
• Prepare and grade assignments, exams, and project reports, providing timely feedback to students.
• Facilitate classroom discussions and support students in understanding complex heat‑transfer concepts.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrated highly effective teaching ability or strong communication skills with potential for teaching excellence.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a specialization closely aligned with heat‑transfer topics.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Understanding of cross‑cultural practices and ability to work in a diverse academic environment.
