About the role
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for MECH 289 – Design Graphics (Section I – Civil Engineering) for the Winter 2027 term. The instructor will deliver the full course content as outlined in the university catalogue, covering the design process, free‑hand sketching, geometry and engineering construction, graphic communication standards, and CAD‑based design.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and tutorials covering the design process, free‑hand sketching, and engineering graphic communication.
- Teach the use of CAD software and ensure students meet the standards described in the course outline.
Required profile
- Minimum Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- At least three years of teaching experience or relevant industry experience in design graphics.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and ability to work in a cross‑cultural academic environment.
Required skills
- Design Graphics software.
- AutoCAD.
- Hands‑free sketching techniques.
