About the role
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach MECH 289 Design Graphics, Section II (Civil Engineering focus) during the Winter 2027 term.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures covering the design process, free‑hand sketching, geometry and engineering construction, CAD software, and visualization as defined in the course outline.
- Prepare and follow the official course schedule (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:35 am – 12:55 pm), manage classroom activities, and evaluate student performance.
- Maintain and update course materials, including CAD examples, to ensure alignment with current engineering graphic communication standards.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- At least three years of teaching experience or relevant industry experience in design graphics.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and awareness of cross‑cultural practices.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a flexible approach to teaching.
Required skills
- Design Graphics software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Hands‑free sketching tools.
