About the role
We are seeking a qualified Chemistry Lecturer to join the Faculty of Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an undergraduate course that covers chemical material properties, solutions and solubility, kinetics and equilibrium, acids and bases, thermodynamics and electrochemistry.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lectures and laboratory sessions for a large‑enrollment chemistry class.
- Develop course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Utilise a learning management system to post resources, manage student communication, and track performance.
- Evaluate student work, provide feedback, and maintain accurate grade records.
- Collaborate with departmental staff to continuously improve course content and delivery.
Required profile
- Postgraduate degree in Chemistry or a related discipline (PhD preferred).
- Demonstrated university teaching experience, especially with large‑enrollment courses.
- Strong academic background, with at least 70 % in Grade 12 Chemistry.
- Ability to communicate complex chemical concepts clearly to engineering students.
Required skills
- Proficiency with a learning management system.
